Le attività antropologiche influiscono sugli equilibri del nostro pianeta. L’inquinamento atmosferico prova grandi cambiamenti, in primis il riscaldamento globale, il cosiddetto “Global Warming”, ma ve ne è anche un altro non meno pericoloso che minaccia gli oceani e le “nostre tavole”. L’anidride carbonica presente nell’atmosfera a contatto con l’acqua si trasforma in acido carbonico e ne aumenta l’acidità, questo avviene a ritmi molto veloci e l’ecosistema marino fa fatica ad adattarsi e per molte specie che lo popolano diventa un ambiente ostile, tra queste specie ci sono anche le cozze che stanno perdendo la capacità di ancorarsi e crescere.
