During the early spring of 2025, MUDIC participated in three Science Fairs in Santomera, Elche, and Benejúzar.
·Santomera Science Fair
Museum staff visited Santomera (Murcia) on Saturday, March 29. Among the scientific experiences available to the general public were Mind the Lab shows “Water, surprising and necessary” and “It’s not magic, it’s science” and an astronomical observation of a sun eclipse.
·Newton College Science Fair
MUDIC participated in the annual science fair at Newton College in Elche, Alicante. The fair’s main activities were the school science project competition and the bridge competition, which featured participation from students from Newton College, New Castelar College, and Colegio Sagrada Familia, as well as a jury composed of university professors. The event also included the collaboration of science communicators and stands from Miguel Hernández University and the University of Alicante. MUDIC participated by hosting four sessions of the interactive show “Water, Necessary and Surprising.” We also featured an EU Corner where European projects such as MEDNIGHT and OpenUS4All were promoted.
·10th Science Competition of the Vega Baja del Segura
MUDIC participated in the tenth Vega Baja Science Competition held in Benejúzar, Alicante. This event brought together students, teachers, companies, associations, and researchers for a showcase of scientific experiences and innovative projects. This tenth edition featured secondary school and vocational training students from different municipalities in the Vega Baja, as well as companies from the science and technology sector, local associations, and researchers from the University Miguel Hernández (UMH). During the competition, attendees enjoyed workshops, demonstrations, and interactive activities to foster knowledge exchange and interest in science among young people and adults. Specifically, MUDIC offered workshops on quantum physics, dry ice, sundials, domes and pollinators. The museum also conducted solar astronomy observations using a telescope and a theatrical performance about women in science titled “5 fires”.
