Marina Trimarchi, coordinator of the MEDNIGHT project, was invited to discuss with a group of the High School “G. Seguenza” students about opportunities, problems, and various aspects of being a woman in STEM careers. She introduced herself and told the students about the various aspects of being a female nuclear physicist, from the hard work of setting up and maintaining a huge experimental apparatus, taking data in international laboratories and analyzing them.
During the event, the exhibition “The Marie Curies of the Mediterranean” was exhibited, and this stimulated an interesting debate about the role of women in science..
