PARAGRAPH TO BE COMLETED FOR EACH PARTNER

Today, 29 September, YOUR CITY is celebrating the Mediterranean Researchers’ Night – MEDNIGHT, … Description of the venues and activities you are going to carry out.

One of the main objectives of MEDNIGHT is to promote scientific vocations using attractive formats and activities for the whole family and making visible the value of science in society. Talks, workshops, exhibitions and science shows for all audiences are some of the formats used. Another of the attractions of the events is the European Union Corner, a prominent place where attendees are shown that the advancement of science requires the collaboration of many countries and that is why the funding of European projects is so important.

The aim of the project is to show the social impact of science in the Mediterranean, with special emphasis on the figure of women researchers, who are often forgotten in this field. In order to give more prominence to women researchers in the Mediterranean, the public will be able to see several of the exhibitions created and made up exclusively of women scientists. In addition, MEDNIGHT has an online audiovisual section “MEDNIGHT TV”, which includes interviews with experts in Mediterranean Science, experiments, workshops and scientific expeditions around the Mediterranean (https://mednight.eu/mednighttv/).

MEDNIGHT celebrates its fourth edition in 2023 and counts with the participation of research centres from 7 countries in coordination: Spain, Italy, Greece, Cyprus, Turkey, France and Belgium. FISABIO, INCLIVA, CSIC, MUDIC, El Caleidoscopio, SciCo Cyprus, the University of Messina, the Kadir Has University of Istanbul and the European Women Rectors Association (EWORA), under the coordination of SciCo Greece are the MEDNIGHT partners, with Genopolys as a collaborating entity. MEDNIGHT has received funding from the European Union through the “Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions and Citizens” call of the “Horizon Europe” programme.
