The yeast cell cycle
The yeast from which we make bread and beer, S. cerevisiae, is an organism that changes shape according to the phase of the cell cycle it is in. It can also live on its own, or merge with another organism to better survive in the wild. The aim of this workshop will be to find the different states of the yeast cell cycle by observing them under the microscope, while understanding the scientific basis behind these transformations.
