The symphony of science: a journey to the heart of the notes
The relationship between science and music goes back a long way, and it’s a very fruitful one. Plato already spoke of ‘Mathematics, Music of the Spheres’, and in his mind, this was not an image! According to legend, Mozart was already saying at the age of three ‘look for notes that like each other’, but what is a note? Why is my C prettier than yours? Can you ‘see’ the sound of a drum? Why does the Western scale have 12 notes? These and other questions will be the focus of this workshop.
