Mind the Lab: Science Discovery Day – From Volcanoes to Fluids

“Mind the Lab” at ITU DF Schools – Private Dr. Sedat Üründül Preschool

On World Environment Day on June 5th, children will enjoy fun activities in the field of science and gain knowledge about factors affecting the environment and global warming. The experiments will be conducted by ITU DF Ekrem Elginkan High School students and teachers for the ITU DF Sedat Urundul Preschool students from 4 year-old classes. In total, 40 students will be participating.

This unique approach will allow preschoolers to learn from high school students. MEDNIGHT will take the opportunity to strengthen the scientific collaboration among different ITU DF Schools. The experiments will include engaging activities such as simulating a volcanic eruption, building terrariums, exploring electricity through electrostatic experiments and plasma globes, and demonstrating the properties of an anti-Newtonian fluid.

(The name of Mind the Lab comes from the announcement that is often heard in the metro in English “Mind the Gap”.
