Chemistry turns green: from hydrogen to new energy vectors
Hydrogen? Is it really that special? Can hydrogen be formed cleanly? Is this the solution to accelerate the energy transition? Through a simple solar energy conversion experiment, we will open reflections showing how to produce “green” hydrogen and use it in a sustainable way. The concept is to accumulate renewable energy (sun or wind) in the form of chemical bonds and then use it as needed. Not only hydrogen but also more complex molecules can be used as accumulators or to supply the chemical industry with the necessary elements (carbon, nitrogen) for the production of goods not from fossil fuels.
