Following the great response of researchers, schools and students up until March, where more than 1200 students participated in the “Research at School activity” organised in the framework of the Mediterranean Researchers’ Night – Mednight, new visits and activities were arranged in April and May.

More specifically, 10 researchers, mainly from the Department of Social Anthropology and History and the Department of Food Science and Nutrition of the Aegean University, visited 16 more schools. During these visits, more than 560 students were informed in an interactive way about social issues, food science, environmental issues and the basic principles of the circular economy. Moreover, they gained a better understanding of the value of science and the work of researchers, with a particular emphasis on the role of women in the evolution of science.

Due to the end of this academic year, new activities will be organised in the coming school year in order for more students from all over Greece to be involved.
