The environment is threatened by the presence of synthetic organic compounds that exhibit high resistance and mobility. These compounds are widely known as Persistent and Mobile (PM) Substances. The research program ZeroPM – Zero Pollution of Persistent and Mobile Substances is funded by the EU and the Horizon 2020 program.
It is coordinated by the Norwegian Geotechnical Institute – NGI and involves a total of 16 partners, among them the Department of Environment of the University of the Aegean. The program will run until 2026 and will involve more than 60 researchers working with industry, policy makers and NGOs to find innovative and sustainable solutions to PM pollution.
