Anny Catalina Ospina Patino, Università degli Studi di Milano-Bicocca – MCAA Italy Chapter, together with Federica Marelli, PhD, from the same university organized 3 lab sessions from May 12th to May 14th for three third grade classes in Aldo Moro primary school, Seregno, Italy.
The three sessions were attended by two teachers and around 20 children per class. The students were very attentive during the explanation and were also very excited about the experimental activity. They asked lots of questions and also brought up complex topics for discussion, as well as asking for the recipe to do it at home.
The activity was successful, as the children enjoyed it and the teachers provided positive feedback. Proof of this was that the last class were experts on the topic, as their friends in other classes had explained all the details to them in a surprisingly accurate way, which was very rewarding.
For the next edition, it would be interesting to give them some of the exhibition materials, they wanted to play with and analyse them at home.
