MEDNIGHT participated in the opening ceremony of the Traditional Science and Technology Festival held at ITU DF Schools Dr. Natuk Birkan Primary and Secondary School on 29 April 2024.

The opening speech of the festival was delivered by Professor Dr. Altan Çakır from the ITU Department of Physics Engineering, who continues his work at CERN within the framework of the Turkish Atomic Energy Agency (TAEK), TÜBİTAK, and ITU projects.

Subsequently, EWORA delivered a presentation highlighting MEDNIGHT’s mission and showcasing the achievements of Mediterranean women in science. The speech resonated with the festival’s theme, emphasizing the importance of diversity and inclusion in STEM fields. A total of 391 students attended and listened to the presentation by EWORA, showing significant interest and engagement in the MEDNIGHT Project.

Following the speeches, the official opening of the ‘Women for Health’ Exhibition was met with great enthusiasm from the students.

Throughout the exhibition, MEDNIGHT looks forward to engaging students throughout the festival, which runs until May 4th, by offering them valuable experiences and insights into the world of science and technology.

The exhibition, however, will be displayed until May 24, 2024.

The exhibition aims to provide students with valuable experiences and insights that will spark their curiosity and inspire them to explore the vast and exciting stories of women scientists, highlighting the achievements of women in the field of healthcare.
