EL 28 de marzo, Juan Miguel Valverde, investigador del CIAGRO de la Universidad Miguel Hernández, impartión una charla y taller práctico a los estudiantes del Colegio Santo Domingo. En la misma, el alumnado pudo realizar tareas de laboratorio propias de las investigaciones en tecnología de los alimentos.

En la visita motivó sobre la carrera científica, la importancia de la ciencia en nuestra sociedad. En concreto, mostró su investigación en tratamientos postcosecha y el estudio del efecto de elicitores (Metil jasmonato, metil salicilato, ácido salicílico, ácido oxálico, melatonina, ácido gamma aminobutírico) en la producción y calidad de diversas frutas (limón, cereza, naranja, alcachofas).
