Throughput of Hermetia illucens larvae based on grinding, extraction with low impact solvents and enzymatic digestions, enables the recovery of fractions endowed with high nutritional value or products later employed as sustainable biomaterials. Water soluble extracts and enzyme digestions yield potential worthy feeds for animals destined to the human diet. Fatty fractions, recovered by extraction with low impact organic liquids, will become biofuels whereas the insoluble matter with its polymeric substrates will get new life as biodegradable coating material and packaging (bio-materials)
