The sea is home to a wide range of marine organisms, including mammals, fish, molluscs, algae and much more. In particular, in the Strait of Messina there are important hydrological phenomena that, together with the morphology of the seabed, allow a peculiar biodiversity. As part of the MEDNIGHT 2022 project, the wonders of the underwater world of the Strait of Messina will be shown through multimedia presentations, videos, exposure of marine organisms and microscopic observations. The LabStREAM laboratory activities related to sampling, study, exploration and research in the marine environment will also be shown.
