Ultrasound Accuracy at Term and Maternal-Fetal Outcomes
The objective of our study was to determine whether an obstetric ultrasound for the evaluation of biometry and fetal weight close to delivery could be reliable and ensure a better maternal-fetal outcome. Pregnant women beyond the 37th week of gestation admitted to the “G. Martino” University Hospital in Messina were examined. The ultrasound estimate of fetal weight was subsequently compared with the newborn’s birth weight. Maternal-fetal outcomes were analyzed, and it was highlighted that the ultrasound before labor is useful and reliable and could improve the delivery outcome.
