
The labyrinth tomb of the Egyptian priest Padiamenope (TT 33)
Presentation of one of the largest tombs in Egypt, the tomb of the priest Padiamenope (TT 33), and the work carried out there by the French mission since 2006. Located on the west bank of Luxor (Thebes), it dates from the early 7th century BC (late 25th – early 26th Dynasty). Comprising 22 rooms, 3 shafts and 4 levels, this library-tomb houses a cenotaph of the god Osiris and numerous religious compositions taken from Egyptian funerary literature.
