Photovoltaic cells and physics for a “greener” world

What is a solar panel made up of and how can you evaluate whether it is efficient or not? In this experiment, we will illustrate the use of electronic boards, such as Raspberry Pi, sensors and Open-Source software for the realization of a low-cost and an easy to implement device to measure physical quantities in reference to the conversion of light energy into electricity, through the use of various photovoltaic cells, the basic elements that make up solar panels. Researchers who study materials and structures of photovoltaic cells need to calculate these parameters because they want to calculate their efficiency.
