Gut microbiota: a training ground for our immune system
The intestinal tract is home to most of the human microbiota, a complex and assorted collection of microorganisms such as viruses, bacteria, and yeasts. Through the study of the interactions between the microbiota, immune system, and diet, it is possible to derive further information regarding the functions associated with the microbiota and the precautions that should be put in place to ensure a balance among the microorganisms that colonize our gut. The goal is to analyze the interdependence of the microbiota, the immune system and diet, highlighting the importance of nutrition in maintaining health. Activities conducted will involve the use of anatomical models, interactive games, and engaging questionnaires.
