Feed valorization of biological waste from poultry production, industrial thermal waste, and CO2. (Acronym: BIO=C=O)

In 2022, the number of pets in Italian households amounted to 65 million with a pet food turnover of almost 2.8 billion euros. In this scenario, despite a progressive contraction in family expenses due to the high cost of living, there is a growing attention from owners for pet nutrition which looks to their well-being. The valorization of wastes from the agri-food chain appears to be decisive in the search for ingredients that can be economically competitive and healthy, with a view to environmental sustainability. The project involves the bio-transformation of processing waste from the poultry industry for the petfood production.
