Exhibition “from the stern to the bow”

3D digital representations using virtual and augmented reality, 3D physical models of 18th and 19th century ships, drawings, photographs, technical descriptions, in a unique exhibition, the fruit of long-term scientific research and collaboration. The exhibition includes historical data on the sailing shipping of the Greeks during the 18th and 19th centuries, information on the most representative sailing ships, starting with the three ships for which a 3D visualization was created, information on life on board, the travels, the large ports of the time, woodworking. Visitors can, through a virtual interactive game, design and “build” their own boat. In addition, the public has the possibility of a virtual visit to a 19th century sailing ship, with the application of interactive methods, which offer visitors an experiential cultural experience using virtual reality (VR) and expand their knowledge using additional information and images of augmented reality ( AR). Video in the exhibition area, highlights the way of construction and “rigging” of 19th century sailing ships through the modeling process.
