Ethics Governance System for RRI in Higher Education, Funding and Research Centres

ETHNA System project, coordinated by the Universitat Jaume I (UJI), aims to develop and implement an ethical system of meta-governance for the management of Responsible Research and Innovation (RRI) in higher education institutions, research centres and research funding bodies.
ETHNA System proposes a building blocks structure so that each institution may build its own ethical governance of RRI and choose its level of commitment depending on its resources and capabilities. The idea of ETHNA System is to form an ethical infrastructure based on an administrative support and sustained by three tools: Code of Ethics and Best Practices, Ethics Committee and Ethics Hotline. The ETHNA system will be implemented and validate within 6 European institutions in the context of Higher Education, Research Funding, Innovation Ecosystems and Research Centres.
In this way, the project aims to contribute to the implementation of institutional changes in the research and innovation structures of the European Union from an ethical perspective to promote and institutionalise RRI, which has among its basic pillars research ethics and integrity, gender equality, open science and citizen engagement.
