As a transactivity of the MEDNIGHT Project, the Mediterranean Researchers’ Night, this Gala marks a significant moment in our collective journey to promote unity through science across the Mediterranean region. The highlight of the event will be the presentation of the 12 distinguished scientists selected for the Mediterranean Science Team, a group dedicated to addressing shared challenges and fostering collaboration among the 23 countries bordering the Mediterranean Sea.

The Mediterranean Science Team:

The Mediterranean Science Team represents science with a human face. Composed of researchers from the Mediterranean basin, the team seeks to provide innovative, large-scale solutions to common issues such as climate change—solutions that can only be realised through cooperation and shared knowledge. The Mediterranean, home to 500 million inhabitants across three continents, is a symbol of shared challenges and joint opportunities.

Recognizing Excellence:

During the Gala, we will also honor three pioneer universities for their exceptional contributions to gender equality under the MEDNIGHT Project’s MU-GEP initiative. This recognition reflects their steadfast commitment to inclusivity and advancing the role of women in science and academia.
