Mediterranean Researcher’s Night, MEDNIGHT 2021, which was founded last year on the Mediterranean Spanish Arch, has expanded its reach, making it a science channel in Mediterranean countries. MEDNIGHT 2021 consists of a consortium of 13 regions in Spain, Greece, and Cyprus.

MEDNIGHT 2021 will take place on September 24, 2021 and is a joint scientific event to demonstrate to the general public the importance of science and research conducted in Mediterranean countries – with an emphasis on the role of women in the field – with the aim of tackling problems in the Mediterranean region.

The activities and events of MEDNIGHT 2021 will focus on the following topics: climate and clean energy, sea and pollution, geology and biodiversity, diet and nutrition, health, anthropology and history, pioneering scientists, and the future. All topics are in line with the objectives of the Green Deal, as this year’s European Researchers’ Night is dedicated to the European Green Agreement.

MEDNIGHT GREECE & SCICO

SciCo as a proud partner and organizer of the Mediterranean Researcher Night in Greece and Cyprus will create a series of unique events. The opening ceremony will take place on June 3 on the Greek island of Lemnos, being the first of 300+ activities that will take place in total as part of the celebration of the Mediterranean Researcher Night throughout the Mediterranean.

SciCo in collaboration with the University of the Aegean and the Technical University of Crete from June to September, will hold exhibitions, workshops, lectures, discussions, and scientific challenges related to research and intended for different audiences to emphasize the value of its science Mediterranean. The goal for everyone is to complete this beautiful voyage on September 24, as part of the first Aegean Science Festival, the largest celebration of science and innovation in the Aegean Sea.
