LET’S PLAY WITH THE BLOOD CELLS: A COMPARISON BETWEEN THE DIFFERENT SPECIES

We propose an exciting activity that will involve children in interactive experiments, through which they will discover the world of blood cells. They will observe the different types of corpuscular elements in the blood and the differences between animal species on blood smears previously prepared in the laboratory. An optical microscope will be used to observe stained slides, offering a practical and fascinating experience. Furthermore, experiments will be conducted on the osmotic fragility of erythrocytes, using batteries of test tubes containing sodium chloride solutions at decreasing concentrations. This experiment will allow us to observe the osmotic capabilities of red blood cells.
