How can renewable energy sources (RES) be utilized in the maritime space of the Aegean islands?

Offshore RES (wind, solar and wave) can be installed on MultiUse Platforms (MUPs) and combined with other Blue Development activities such as desalination and fish farming units to provide the required electricity. In this way, multiple uses of the maritime space (MultiUse of Space – MUS) are achieved and synergies between uses are exploited in accordance with the principles of Blue Development. Excess electricity can be used to meet the needs of adjacent islands or passing ships. The purpose of the action is to inform the public about multi-purpose offshore platforms and especially about the implementation of one off Oinoussa, in the Northeast Aegean within the framework of the MUSICA project. The action is aimed at the general public and is open to anyone who passes by and is interested in the issue. A poster will be displayed, a brochure will be provided and a short (3-minute) video about offshore RES platforms will be playing continuously. There will be researchers present to answer questions about offshore RES and the MUSICA project.
