“100% green” bioplastics obtained from agri-food waste
Can bioplastics be obtained from agri-food waste, biodegradable through composting, and which therefore will no longer pollute our planet? The answer is yes!
Thanks to the LIFE RESTART, Reuse of bEeer SpenT grAin foR bioplasTics project, co-financed by the European Union under the LIFE Program (LIFE21-ENV-IT-LIFE RESTART/101074314) https://www.unime.it/ricerca/progetti-finanziati/progetti-life/life-restart in which UNIME is developing bioplastics from beer processing waste (grains) supplied by the Messina Brewery. Jars, caps, spacers etc are the first objects made with these bioplastics which represent an ecological alternative to non-biodegradable fossil-based plastic. In short: no more plastic pollution!
