THE RIGHT ON THE BEACH

Following the initiative entitled “What will become of our beaches? – The management of the national coastal heritage among economic, environmental and socio-cultural needs,” which was held at the international event “MEDNIGHT” on September 29 and 30, 2023, the Department of Law, in the framework of the Third Mission activities, entered into an agreement with the Municipality of Giardini Naxos, with the aim, among other things, of informing and raising the awareness of the citizenship on the legal issues related to concessions of State-owned maritime property and the opportunities arising from a better use of the coastline, encouraging forms of active participation and stimulating initiatives from the territory.
Therefore, the proposal is to present the first results of this partnership, through videos, interviews and direct testimonies, extending the public debate – also by filling in a specific survey – regarding a particularly interesting topic for the Mediterranean area.
