An energy independent weather stations network, distributed in a wide area, whose nodes communicate, exchange information and data, and perform workload balancing through computational offloading based on battery level in order to keep alive all the nodes. The solar powered devices exploit, thanks to an integrated photovoltaic panel, a precious and plentiful resource avoiding the use of electricity and eliminating, as a consequence, the carbon emissions. The data collected in an integrated dashboard can be plotted and visualized in maps and graphs, and analyzed to set alerts and compute the …saved carbon footprint!
